Hello fellow history memers. I’m sorry that this is not a meme. But I think this sub has a problem. I guess the problem has more than side, but mostly it can be summed up by posts which barely is about history. Allow me to take an example: https://ift.tt/2YIinNf post just hit 55k upvotes, yet there’s hardly any history about it. I believe that there has to be a line between a funny joke and a meme about a historical event. One is litterally what you see in the link; a somewhat funny joke which doesn’t relate to a historical event. The other is where you make fun of an event. The sub has another problem as well which comes from it’s size and the nature of the sub; that a lot of the posts are very, very low effort. For instance, look at subs like r/imsorryjon, or r/polandball which both have original content. A lot of the posts here are reposts while others are only making some slight hinting to some historical event. The posts should be entirely about the historical event that they make fun off.Maybe you agree with me, or maybe you think this sub is where it should be. Either way, thank you for reading via /r/HistoryMemes https://ift.tt/2G2bPl6
