The start of a Swedish Empire

​Chapter I A United IndepenceIn 1444 the nobility in both Norway and Sweden had had enough with the tyrencial rule by Denmark and so they together declared independence against Denmark. After heavy fighting in southern Sweden did Sweden and Norway come out successfully managing to take the fortress in Lund. Then the danes wanted a peace and so did the happy allies. The Treaty of Gotland gave Sweden and Norway independence. They also got to share a large amount of ducats and Sweden was giving back control over Gotland. Gustav I Adolf Gera became King of Sweden and quickly gained a son by the name of Karl.Chapter II Swedish DominationKing Gustav I Adolf focused on rebuilding his army making it able to again wage war. The war target was of course Denmark. The Swedish King started discussing with the Norwegian King a war in 1460 now with the truce long gone and the Norwegian King liked the idea. 14 december 1461 the war had begun against Denmark. Friesland a ally of Denmark had paid some traders to seize the Orkney islands and invade Norway but at the second they met the mighty Norwegian army they got destroyed. Sweden in the meanwhile sized down all of Denmark.
