We need a break. The Orange Arrow thing was a fun time but we are worn the fuck out.Adding mods here is a challenge, perhaps moreso than any other sub on reddit.First, we are extremely busy. Wholesomememes has double the subscribers and that sub gets around 400 posts per day. This place has 3,000, and at peak times, we have 300 posts per hour. Ain’t nobody got time for that.Second, no offense, but you guys can be unpredictable, since most of you are in some form of school. It’s loveable and we wouldn’t change it, but the younger crowd here means we don’t know who actually has time for this vs people who dont.Third, even when we do add mods, it takes them a few weeks to decide this is not the kind of work that should be done for no money. Because it is a lot. And constant. You have to really, really love this place and want to see it cared for to put up with the relentless volume of shitposts that show up.We considered just giving up and blowing the place up but I think there is a better way and we are excited about it. We would like to add several people as mods with the ability to activate sloth’s flair bot to help us remove certain posts from the queue. Being good at this is a fast track to being a real mod, and that’s where alllll the fun is. Jk its like a prison. But at least we have each other, right?The flair mods we choose will have strict rules and be working within a very narrow scope of the sub. But man, we really need some help with this stuff. And I know a lot of you are here anyway and know what reposts are and can recognize something that is too edgy or doesn’t follow rules. I’m certain a lot of you have thought, man I wish I just had the ability to remove reposts while I’m browsing the sub. Well, your day has come. Maybe.We haven’t decided how many people we are going to add, but we have decided that while we do have a few questions that are pretty important, only a few are vital. If you can answer the first few questions and you do not qualify for any other reason, you will be added to a lottery and we will be choosing a few random applicants to get in even though they suck didn’t tick all the boxes.I hope that encourages some of you without experience or otherwise think you have no chance to apply too. We don’t even ask about your experience, it isn’t relevant for this.
