During the last months of WWI, a brazilian cruiser was patrolling Strait of Gibraltar when the commandant mistook a shoal of porpoises for the periscope of a german submarine. Without hesitation, the almirant immediately ordered the officials to fire the torpedoes, which resulted in the complete slaughter of the shoal, this was later called “Battle of Porpoises”.
