Hello!Today, we will be running a survey on how people interact with memes. We are assisting u/AmandaKarlsson, who is a master’s student in Informatics at Umeå University https://www.umu.se/. She is currently researching memes for her master’s thesis! All of the information collected here is completely anonymous, and will become publicly available.u/AmandaKarlsson wanted to include this info about the survey:As memes are quite a broad subject there are many niches I will not be able to cover. As a result, the memes used as examples have been chosen with the intent to reach as many as possible within this wide audience. This survey serves to map some fundamentals regarding the characteristics, exposure and spreading of memes.Furthermore this study has been narrowed down to image memes, as universities are rather meticulous with the precision of the data, especially when it comes to surveys. The border between a viral video and a video meme, for example, is not as black and white. This study is being conducted in the field of Informatics – Human Computer Interaction. Also, if you think there are a lot of normie memes, dont worry as there’s a question at the end literally asking you if you think that. And now the survey!
